FRAME (AZTEC CAMERA)

Scottish singer-songwriter, who upon the release of his debut album High Land Hard Rain as Aztec Camera (which contained the stand out tracks Oblivious, Pillar To Post and Walk Out To Winter) was being heralded alongside Elvis Costello and still a teenager. His literate, bitter-sweet and reflective expressions and their jangly-pop meets country and soul style was a winning sound. Mark Knopfler produced the follow up Knife and their next album Love yielded four hits including Somewhere In My Heart. Further albums Stray and Dreamland proved there was no diminishing signs to his highly consistent output. In '98 he went under his solo name and released North Star, which was again critically acclaimed and his new album, released through Redemption Records shall be released shortly. Support comes from David Blazye from The Hi & Lonesome, new to db records (Tom McRae) Further support
comes from Silverman, who have their debut album Speed Of Life released
through Uglyman (Elbow, I Am Kloot), to which Time Out commented "there
won't be a dry eye in the house" |
