A TRUE individual
whose eccentric, surreal and very English psychedelic folk rock has earnt
him a worldwide cult following notably including REM's Michael Stipe and
Peter Buck who have appeared on his records.
Seen as a man who carried on where Syd Barrett left off with 70's band
The Soft Boys he went solo in '81, releasing a long line of acclaimed
albums including 'I Often Dream Of Trains' which contained 'Uncorrected
Personality Traits'.
His '93 album 'Respect' was produced by John Leckie and was comparable
to Love's legendary 'Forever Changes' album, again going vividly where
most people would never imagine.
He recently toured the USA with Flaming Lips and Sebodah and has a new
album out on Warner Brothers called 'Jewels For Sophia' (featuring Peter
Buck and Grant Lee Phillips).
His musical connection between west coast psychedelia and folk is a sweet,
idiosyncratic, surreal and often tainted with love's odour affair and
once again we look forward to a live show festooned with his streams of
consciousness patter.
In recent years
he has toured the states with The Flaming Lips and Sebadoh, released the
albums Jewels For Sophia (featuring Peter Buck and Grant Lee Philips)
and A Star For Bram. A rare and inspiring experience guaranteed.
Support comes from
highly talentented and respected Irish singer-songwriter Mundy He has
a new album out 24 Star Hotel, which follows up Jellylegs, from which
came the single To You I Bestow (also featured in film Romeo & Juliet)
and saw him tour with Alanis, Van Morrison, Neil Young and The Manics.
