THIS band
are arguably one of the most hard working and vibed up acts around.
Their non-stop touring has gained them one of the loyalist followings
around. Ireland's prestigious magazine 'Hot Press' commented "When Picture
House hit the target, they combine the serious intent of REM with the
pop exuberance of Crowded House" and added "they boil over with catchy
tunes, contagious choruses and indelible hooklines".
Initially, the band set out to promote their debut album 'Shine Box' for
six weeks, but demand resulted in them being on the road for forty weeks!
Next came a mightily impressive run of tours with The Corrs and Meatloaf
(which visited the NEC), along with Saw Doctors, Texas, The Divine Comedy,
Runrig, James and Suzanne Vega.
During this time they wrote their second album 'Karmarama' and also won
the Phil Lynott award at the prestigious 'Irish World Awards'.
This show at Ronnies marks a very welcome return to the club for the band
who held their excitable audiences in the palm of their hands over two
nights last summer.
