"You would
be right to start thinking along Simon & Garfunkel lines" wrote The Guardian
in high praise indeed.
Hailing from the city of Bergen, Norway; this understated duo is able
to weave unbelievable songs from relative simple means. Essentially only
two guitars, two vocals and the occasional drum loop are the only tools
they use to create some of the most beautiful pop music created in recent
history.
Their
thought provoking songs came to the fore by way of their mini-album called
"Live In A Room", a five track acoustic record released by Source during
October 2000.
They were soon compared to Coldplay, Badly Drawn Boy and Belle & Sebastian
and picked up acclaim from Mark & Lard and Teenage Fanclub.
They confess their influences as being Suzanne Vega, Tracy Chapman, Red
House Painters, The Cure and Pink Floyd.
Their new album "Quiet Is The New Loud" is produced by Ken Nelson (Coldplay,
Badly Drawn Boy) and has string arrangements by David Whittaker (Air,
Serge Gainsbourg and early R.Stones).
