Originally from Ohio, now a New Yorker, Joseph, a writer, sculptor and painter, recieved a telephone call from Peter Gabriel and next thing was, he was signed to his Real World label. A mesmerising performer, whose dynamic ranges from bare acoustic to relentless soundscapes crafted with the use of his personal technology, he has been deemed to have "helped bridge the gap between trip-hop and singer-songwriter". Upon the release
of his first two albums Big City Secrets and Come To Where I'm From, he
toured with Ben Harper and Gomez. American magazine Billboard said he
had "an innate ability to craft taut, infectious melodies while weaving
intense, probing lyrics" the New York Times also said he's "learned from
Leonard Cohen's stoicism, Kurt Cobains sullen determination and Tom Waits'
raw bone arrangements". Support comes from JACOB GOLDEN Californian, Jason, who possesses a soaring falsetto, that has brought about jeff buckley likenesses in reviews, writes and performs soul stirring material. His debut ep was produced by David Kosten / Faultline (who produced Ben Christophers and whose own album features guests such as REM's Michael Stipe and Coldplay's Chris Martin). His debut album is due out soon on rough trade. www.roughtraderecords.com Further support comes
from Montana Hi-Rise, who has recently been taken on for management by
the same company who book Radioheads shows |
