Like ELBOW,
I Am Kloot also hail from Manchester and also put out a single on Uglyman
records - in their case two tracks called "To You / Titanic".
They then hooked up with the We Love You label through Wall Of Sound to
release "Twist / 86 Tvs" and embarked upon a label tour with Shawn Lee
and Kings Of Convenience, backed by the NME.
Look out for their next single "Darkstar" (Feb 12 2001) and album "Natural
History" (March 26 2001).
The band comprise of John Bramwell, Peter Jobson and Andy Hargreaves.
These
Mancunian's return to ronnies following their hotly received sell-out
appearance with 'ELBOW' in the January' SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL'. They also
completed a full UK tour with 'The Webb Brohers' at this time. The show
coincides with the release of their album 'NATURAL HISTORY'(We Love You/Wall
Of Sound), which features the recent single 'DARK STAR', along with the
previous singles 'To You', 'Twist' and '86 TV's'.
The album has been produced by Elbow main man Guy Garvey.
The trio are fronted by 'John Bramwell', who has a genius for penning
twisted torch songs and heart-wrenching serenades laced with gorgeous
melodies and littered with savage one-liners. Their line up is completed
by 'Peter Jobson' on bass and 'Andy Hargreaves' on drums.
They have also recently contributed to the Kosovo charity album 'Cohesion',
that also features 'Doves', 'Badly Drawn Boy', 'Ian Brown', 'Happy Monday's'
and ' New Order'. "I Am Kloot already write songs verging on classics,
incisive, darkly humorous musings" - NME.
Special guest is Merz, who released
his eponymous album in '99 to widespread critical acclaim, which led him
to tour with 'The The'.
