HEATHER NOVA

Heather returns to The Songwriters Festival, having played a sold out show in January of 1999.

She was born on Bermuda and spent much of her first sixteen years on her fathers boat on the ocean, listening to Neil Young, Jimmy Cliff and Van Morrison.
She then moved to New York to attend art school. Next stop was London, where her songs were noticed by Big Cat records, who put her Spirit In You - single and Glow Stars - album out, along with the live Jeff Buckley ep : Sin-E.

The follow up album Oyster had a dark, sultry, raw and sexy feel to it. Heather undertook heavy touring schedules including appearing at The Lillith Fair concerts with Sarah McLachlan. She now had her place as a contemporary of the likes Tori Amos and Natalie Merchant, writing poignant and moving songs.

The next album Siren further cemented a growing reputation across europe and her latest album South, which includes the singles I'm No Angel and Virus Of The Mind displays an adventurous approach to songwriting, including a collaboaration with Bernard Butler.
