Elbow are
from Manchester and summer 2000 released their "Newborn" ep (recorded
at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios) through the city's "Uglyman" label.
It became Mark & Lard's single of the week and saw them play the "Reading"
and "Leed's" festivals to great acclaim, whilst also performing on Channel
4's "Barfly Sessions".
They are now set to "do a coldplay" in 2001 if the music press
have got it right.
Their year begins with the release of the "Any Day Now"" ep on 15th January
2001, this time through Uglyman/ V2 (Richard Branson) placing them in
the company of The Stereophonics, Mercury Rev and Grandaddy.
They have already toured with Grandaddy and The Doves and received references
to Radiohead, and Jeff Buckley.
Elbow are Guy Garvey, Mark Potter, Craig Potter, Rick Jupp and Pete Turner.
