COUSTEAU

During October 2000 Cousteau released their highly acclaimed single 'Last Good Day Of The Year', the follow up to 'She Don't Hear Your Prayer' and their debut album 'Cousteau' through Palm Pictures ( the label set up by Island Records founder Chris Blackwell who released Tom Waits, Nick Drake, Bob Marley, U2 and John Martyn).

The band were formed by Aussie songwriter Davey Ray Moor and completed by the rich Irish, Scott Walker-esque vocals of Liam McKahey.
The press have likened elements of the bands sound to Nick Cave, Bacharach, Tindersticks, Bowie and The Verve.
"their mix of lounge blues, Scott Walker vocal moves and tight rhythms translate with stylish ease to the live setting. Sumptuous stuff". - Time Out
"classy noir debut" - Mojo,
"mellow, dark, dreamy, drenched in red wine" - NME
Carina Round, who performed at ronnies with Cousteau earlier this year, has since begun recording her debut album on which Davey and Liam play.
