BERNARD
BUTLER Following his spell as the original guitarist in SUEDE and his
collaboration with David McAlmont, he move to Creation Records (home of
Oasis) to begin his solo career.
The first fruits were the Brit Award nominated
album 'People Move On', which sold over 100,000 copies and was one of
Rolling Stone's magazine's Albums Of The Year.
The album was a deeply involving and lush affair, that saw him tagged
as a Neil Young for the 90's and heir to the likes of Mick Ronson, John
Squire (The Stone Roses) and Johnny Marr (The Smiths and Electronic).
THE SUNDAY TIMES wrote "edging towards a full blown statement
of intent, one of the years best examples of the singer-songwriter art".
His second album, the recently released 'Friends And Lovers', recorded
with Andy Wallace (Nirvana,Jeff Buckley), has been equally well received
and seen him complete a full UK arena tour with Texas. The date at Ronnies
forms part of a full UK headline tour.
UNCUT wrote "They don't make 'em like they used to, the headshakers
will tell you. But they do and Bernard Butler proves it".
